Brief
To build a highly accessible responsive website for the ‘National Leadership Centre’, a UK Government iniative lead by the Cabinet Office. As a Government project, a high level of attention to accessibility considerations had to be given.

Solution
As the lead developer on the project, I put together a strategy focussed around a ‘block based’ website build methodology. This involved building a collection of individual content ‘blocks’ that could be changed around, and between pages, without losing their styling or breaking the page flow.
One of the requirements of the project was that the website had to be built with a look towards migrating to a CMS in a Phase 2. This block based approach helped meet this criteria, with the idea being that the site will be easily migrated to using WordPress Gutenberg Blocks or Drupal content blocks.
Throughout the project, we were in constant communications with the Cabinet Office, working with them to refine and amend the designs.
